A long weekend dedicated to the kora!

June 5th - 9th

Take the chance to step away from daily life to focus on and develop your kora playing. Come and be part of an inspiring community of players at different levels of skill. Each morning will start with us gathering and playing together. Throughout the day there will be a mixture of group learning and one-on-one sessions so I can help everyone individually with what they would like to work on at their level of skill, be it learning a new piece or improving particular techniques and styles. Last but not least we’ll of course also have plenty of time to just be together, relax and enjoy!

When:

Begin: Thursday, 5 June, 2025 18 h with a light dinner and a first evening session

End: Monday, 9 June 2025,10 h

Where:

Le Clos Ô Daims is a new, very comfortable “gîte” in Widensolen near Colmar. The large property is situated in a beautiful area and even has access to a private lake about 4km away. On the ground floor the house offers 2 rooms with 2 single beds/shower each and 1 single with separate entrance, large bed and private bathroom. On the 1st floor: 2 single rooms with large bed (shared bathroom). Both downstairs and upstairs there are nice big living rooms and kitchens.

Travel

If you're flying, EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg is the most convenient option. There are direct trains from Basel SBB to Colmar, making it an easy connection. From there, options to share a taxi to the venue. If you'd like to explore travel-sharing options with other participants, or if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Meals

We will be taking care of breakfast and dinner together. Friday and Saturday a nice meal will be served for lunch, Sunday we go eat together to a nearby local restaurant (Price not included).

  1. Mornings: Begin with breakfast, followed by a group kora session, and a coffee/tea break.

  2. Midday: Second kora session, then lunch.

  3. Afternoons: Free time for rest, personal practice, or exploring.

  4. Evenings: Group practice and jam sessions, followed by dinner.
